It has been a pleasure and a wonderful experience being in Advertising and Procedures.  I have always watched commercials aimlessly without question or the slightest thought about what was being presented in front of me.  Now that I have a little more information about the advertising world I feel like I watch commercials through a double sided mirror.  I can watch commercials now and notice things that the average person wouldnt see or take into consideration.  I now enjoy watching commercial and seeing advertisements to try to figure out why companies have decided to showcase their products in such a way.  From My Eyes Only 

I was clueless as to what advertising was, up until enrolling in this class this semester.I have always liked to write, but I have developed a liking for this side of mass communications, because you can do so much, and be creative with just a click of a button. I still have a lot to learn about it, but it has opened my eyes to other sides of this field, and I am excited to see where it takes me.

Why is it that black people are looked at as, “not educated”, or whenever a black male comes in a room with dread locks, sagged pants, or cornrows, the whites quickly clutch their bag, in hopes they don’t get robbed? I honestly don’t know if I could have survived back in slavery, because I just might of cussed my slave owner out for trying to tell me what to do. I hate the black stereotype, and how we are looked at as a whole to society. How some think every black girl is on welfare, and got 5 or 6 kids, and how every black male, has been locked up for armed robbery.Granted, sometimes I don’t like getting up to go to class hearing boring ass professors talk and make us take notes that probably won’t do us any justice because I won’t read them when I get home, but I refuse to be apart of the black stereotype, and in return, I will one day be successful proving everybody wrong.
